Update from T. Caffeine
Hello Everyone, I have done a layout of what I am planning to do, I am sorry I am not very good with presentation, so here is just a render. It'll be a pretty big challenge being alone and all, but I dont mind challenges.
Looking forward to see all your projects ( especially does who have chosen the same image as me).
Keep it up!! There is alot of good stuff already!!

Sparth = Subject
By the way, this is the image I am working on.
I took this one basically because I felt it was the most "challenging" one for me. Especially considering I've never done any sci-fi before...Might seems like a lot for 1 person, but I'm confident I can do this.

I'll keep you posted guys!

Massive Update
Hey Guys!
It's been a while, I figured I'd keep you posted on my project.
I gotta say to be Honest My desk at home right now is covered with RedBull Cans haha.

I had in mind to keep you posted everytime I'd shater one big step.
1) Modelling, 2) Mapping, 3) textures Etc etc.. But time is running short, and I have been holding back my modelling too long. I am not done yet, INFACT I am missing perhaps 25% of the scene ( without counting the detail pass wich I will do once everything is mapped and textured.).

The whole scene is done in MAX, I did not have to take out my zbrush skillz for this one "sadly". I have done a Time Lapse "image" of my work, just to show you the workload/pipeline I do per night after work, just for those who are curious to see how I work. The scene right now is approximately 90 000 but I know I have some optimizing to do, so chances are that number will probably be the final number once everything is optimized and once I added that missing 25% of modelling left to do.

Also I have added a render that has some photoshop Hue/Saturation & Levels just to support my image.. Not sure if that is legal for the challenge, but I recall reading somewhere in the rules that it was ok to adjust hue in photoshop. The rest is all Max render though. So yeah I should be done with My modelling approximately in 3 to 4 days. Will keep you posted.
I'd like to thank the Akira Soundtrack for entertaining me at 3-4 in the morning many times in the past 2 weeks :p

There are loads of powerful images out there, feels good to be part of this incredible competition. keep it up guys! And PS: If you are working alone, ( like me) dont discourage yourselves because you are facing teams of 2 or 3 :)

The Full Image
An Image test, very primitive, no Comp or anything. The image still gives me an idea of where and how to orient my style, Color-palette-wise,depth, composition...etc etc..

Ah ok So you will not do a highpoly, isnt it? I think your workflow will be to texture the scene with tileable textures, is that correct?
