Looks cool... I'm going to try and do this one... I keep starting 3D comps and not finishing them.

One question - to what extent do we have to keep within the pokemon art style exactly? Could we say do a more realistic interpretation of a pokemon for example?

Anyway... hmmmm.... I'm thinking of some kind of electric-dragon...

Can we take an existing pokemon and just apply our own style to it?

My Pokemon is going to be called Chin Chiller. He is a Chinchilla inspired creature with ice powers and a potentially massive chin! Think Bruce Forsythe, Jimmy Hill or Greg Rusedski in cute frozen creature format.

Sketches coming soon!

hmmm...to be honest, not exactly what I was hoping for in a mini-challenge.. actually.. the words I spoke to myself when I saw the thread were.. "aw man you gotta be kidding me..." but then after looking through some of the online reference figured it might be fun to make a cute little monster like that. we'll see... gotta think.

well the thing that is interesting is that if you look at pokemon (or at least the 3 I used to play), the pokemon got more realistic/less cartoony as they evolved. They gained detail, with that in mind this gives you a lot of freedom. If you want to do cartoony, you can go with a low level, pre-evolved type monster, or you can go with a massive, 5x evolved pokemon with large amounts of detail.

yah I think the biggest decision to make is texture style. whether to stick true to the series or bring it into a realistic look.. or somewhere in between.

lol this reminds me of the "politically incorrect pokemon" my college roommate and I came up with. (mostly him).. probably shouldn't do those.
