Nice Dhalsim! No fireball it might get in the way. Maybe Smoke to hint at it?
also eyeballs would be good. A good way to do it is to mask the eye socket, invert the mask then go to it with the Magnify brush. Then use The Move Function, (not the brush) to set the eyes back, unmask and Presto!

Found out about the comp late! Started this last night, Urien from SF3. I started it just from a general skull-shaped basemesh I made around christmas time hence why its head-only @ the moment but I'm gonna get the neck/shoulder area going ASAP:

Lokendra, I thought about doing Alex @ first because most of my fav. characters were taken already, good to see someone else doing it. The face so far reminds me of a younger version of the jigsaw guy from the saw movies, haha.

Excellent work so far guys.

First post
Hi everyone, this my first post here. I've lurked GA for a while now but when I saw the competition and all of the cool work being posted I just to had to sign up and join in. Nice to meet you all.

I decided to try my hand at Zangief. It's somewhat far along at this point but there is still a lot I want to change/refine in the character. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Finished! The facial hair could use some love, but I'm eager to get started on another SF character, gonna call this one a warm-up

red-fox: thanks,I'm using zbrush
MBT: Thanks!
PhattyG: Your Birdie turned out great, I like the expression!
Mind Traveler: Finished! Your Dhalsim's looking great btw
Tacit: That's looking awesome already, finish him!
Sinzalot: Thanks
Lokendra: Looking good, it feels very natural
Chaos3d: Nice, very dynamic! The nose area could use some more work maybe, the fold that runs alongside the mouth (nasolabial fold) should run past the nostril and into the ball of the nose. The ears also feel a bit flat.
Guybrush: Nice!
adamlewis: Awesome work as always man, I love the forms

That Zangief looks so cool Adamlewis, nice mix of comic style and reality

guybrush, i think that you need to find a way of getting some fire to work with your model, great pose dude!

here is a small update, i changed up the face a bit to go for a more cartoony style, i think it looks beter

Jaco - that's a slick Birdie . Its good to see how someone else did the same character that I chose.
Inpw - thats a crazy face. It makes me wonder what he's thinking about
adamlewis - I think you've captured zangief's personality really well
kwakkie - like it!
slebbo - love the head. the expression's cool. Maybe could do with a bigger neck and shoulders to look more powerfull
Guybrush - Very nice
Chaos3D - Excellent cartoonish style. I think the eyepatch strap on the side of his head could be a straighter so it looks like there's tension there

I think this is finished now, but may change my mind later

Those Birdie's are looking mighty cool!

Here's my Sub-D level 1 of Gill.

Don't know how I'm gonna tackle the hair yet. Hope I get done in time.

>_<

Updated:

Going for a more rigid and pinched on the side that's meant to represent ice. Hopefully it'll work as well as it does in my head:
