    Vikramvr's new character WIP

Hello guys..I've got some new stuff to show finally

This is my new character. He is sort of a punk, set out on an adventure. I will be making him into a game model. Here are the zbrush renders of him

Initially I planned to make him bare body, and so sculpted his body, but then added clothing as he progressed.

    A shot of the bag

Looking at comments from other forums, I have reduced some fat from the knees. So, here's a shot of it

superb design and some excellent sculpting ! nice one man

the face could do with being a little bit more fleshy perhaps, it just feels a tad too stylized, unless that's what your aiming for. you could soften the area under his lower lip and give the nose a bit more break up - it has a very clean hard edge atm

just minor ideas though, i actually really like his personality, it's refreshing

Mike_K TY for your reply. There are some regions in the face, like the cheeks that need more shaping. I would further go ahead and add some pores, but I guess this look was intented.

    Genz, TY

daphzart, TY, there is a snap towards the end in which I have reduced the fat. This is a common comment, even in the other forums.

Prosset, TY. Well, I will be adding more wear and tear to the bad, and perhaps some buttons and stickers.

the head is the weak part on this character(and that is just getting picky). It needs more shaping and refinement as you have mentioned. Other than that, excellent work.

Thank you for the reply, Draxxus. Here's an update on the face. I realized that the earring is at an odd angle only after I rendered this image out. I will be correcting that.

    Ha! It's Rudy from 3d.sk

The new revision is much better for the head but the likeness isn't quite there yet. Also have a look at the anatomy of the torso on the side. From the arm pit to the love handle. there is some weird creasing happening there. Doesn't feel like a rib cage exists there. Tight work my friend.

looking really good, I would look into some throat/neck anatomy though, at the moment the sternal head muscle is protruding a bit much and is a bit out of place. The fat outer jaw looks a bit strange maybe aswell, looking good though

3DLam, TY for the reply. I am not looking to create a 3d rudy here. I started this character as a portrait, drawing reference from him. In the end when I decided to create an entire character, I drew inspiration from various places, massive black's concept art for Infamous being one of them.

Crazyfool, Ty. I will definitely be giving the neck a second visit.

Very cool vikramvr, this is looking like your best character yet and I really like where you are going with it.

One thing that looks a bit odd to me at this point is the lack of definition in his nose, the nostrils in particular.

I made a quick paint over showing what I mean.

One other thing I wanted to point out was the protruding knuckles on his hands, they seem a bit too pronounced and take away from the rest of the realism that you have going on.

Other than that this rocks, keep it up!:thumb:

I certainly (absolute), I can prove. However, it is not for me this kind of work. Anyway, it does not takes away merit about the "creation" of which you made upon the model.

I just hope more humility in other studies, works.

Well, I need not say much about it. Just anyone download the original model (the BaseMesh), and verify (especially the feet and hands). There are volumes on the feet, you hardly changed.

In brief, I did not come here to fight. Only defend what I think correct.

Marcus, I really appreciate your effort to point out things that you think are wrong with the model. However, the reference I am using has a nose like this. Now, I've learnt that in 3d however, it would make sense accentuating certain features, and lean more towards an ideal anatomy figure.

Vitorlobo, I am not here to argue. I am confident on what I do, so please refrain from posting comments like this in the future. For your kind information, I use my own base model. I have been a character/environment artist for many years now, and I know the do's and dont's of the industry. I would take the blame and prove it to the owner if I am accused of plaigiarism, and not to you.

    Thumbs up ..

Well, I did not accuse him of plagiarism. Only I said that you used / uses a BaseMesh is not yours. And in addition to deny, even if the landlord says. It would cost credit the real author of the mesh? You have lost nothing with it.

But well, I will contact the Benjamin and ask what he thinks about it.

It would be very shameful to have to prove something here in the forum. Do not want to defame. However, you are not collaborating with the truth. Anyone people what download the mesh of Benjamin, will know that you're lying.

Before they leave deleting my post, having regard to the complaint. In short, allow this type of attitude is not correct.

guys, Since a particular person feels I have used benjamin's model for the knees, i have gone ahead and taken the effort to change the knees, further reducing the fat on them, and making the knees look younger.

I have also gave him a new pair of shoes.

I really want to end the difference of opinion here, and if vitorlobo still feels completely unsatisfied with what I have done, I request him to mail me. I also request the moderators to remove his above two posts.

    Thumbs up but....

I found it strange to have used his model as a reference and have edited and deleted the post. But finally, as the owner claims to have been false alarm, I leave here my excuse

Hi Vitorlobo,I requested more than a couple of times to stop commenting like you have done on a public forum. You went to the level of saying it would be shameful if you proved that I have plaigiarised Selwy's model. Now, I think your unwanted accusation should have been clarified by now by the direct mail sent by selwy to you. ( He also sent me a copy, and I am decent enough here since I am not posting his mail publicly on this forum). I want you to do this favour for me now...Delete your posts of accusation from this forum. You have caused me unwanted mental pressure, and I want it to end here.

Nope, I didn't use his base mesh. I used his sculpts as reference, (and also real sculpture references) here and there for the knees, which Selwy already knows. I have given credit wherever appropriate, and Selwy is happy about it.

Vitorlobo falsely accused in this forum saying I have "used" Selwy's model, as opposed to being inspired by it. Selwy, has always been my inspiration, and he is open to his model being used as reference material.

Vitorlobo kept accusing me, and wouldn't stop even after me requesting him to do so. So I wrote a mail to selwy, and he clarified yesterday that I haven't used his model, and it's a false alarm. I hope Vitorlobo calms down now, and the readers of this page understand the situation. Thank you guys.
