Pixel Art / Sprite Animation

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone could help me look for some tutorials on animating Pixel Art (like cell phone type sprites)

I've been interested in Pixel art for sometime now, and I have some free time before I head back to college, and I've started working on a little character for a simple side scroller, and at this point I'm a bit lost on how to correctly animate these sprites.

So if anyone knows of some good tutorials (or can point me in the right direction) I'll be greatful.
