    Hunter Toff (Jungle Scene 01)

Hi everyone and welcome to this thread.

I've had an idea in my head for a while of modelling a Old Victorian Hunter similar to that of Van Pelt in the movie Jumanji. As for style as it stands, i'm after a mix of TF2 with a blend of The Clone Wars. Which will hopefully lead to character that has the appearance of been sculpted out of clay.

The main aim for this little project will be broken up. I will first be modelling a Hunter as you'll see below as well as a Jungle girl and tiger. Those 3 models will be posed on a jungle scene were the Hunter will be protecting the jungle girl from the tiger attack.

    Aye Tom. Finally.

I have question for you guys. I've been looking at Obi Wan from Clone Wars again which is the style i'm wanting for the beard and i'm starting to wonder whether the beard is a separate object from the face or the beard and the head are all one mesh. So what do you think? I'm leaning towards separate. To help you get a better idea here are a few images.

Ok peeps. Got a little question for you. I'm near the end of modelling my Hunter (a few accessories need to be added and finished off) and a friend noticed that his crotch was a tad low. Now the style could play to that but i copied the model and moved the crotch up to decide which works best and now i'm split 50/50.

So what do you guys think?

Genz, Yeah i decided on B as well. It's meant to be cartoony so realistic proportions are thrown out of the window for more exaggerated ones.

KingV, Thank you and i will see it through to the end .

Oh after having a break doing the Unoffical WOW Mount competition on these very boards i'm being work again. Updated with a cape, holster, poaches, etc.

  11. Immediately recognizable style. you said tf2, which i play, and i can see him running around 2Fort with a comedic large shotgun(maybe he's compensating for something, lol). Great thing with this character is you can really make some interesting support accessories. He's Australian i'm assuming, can hear him with that thick down under accent, so maybe a Dundee "Knife" (or short sword, however you look at it)? is his cape made of some exotic animal? a Whip?

Not a single crit from here. gesture, volumes and style is dead on. Love it! I hope you take this as far as you can, because it is a great piece.

    Waitin for more Dis!

Vigilant3D, HAHA well that's good news that you can reconise the style and cheers for your kind words. As for the gun its a toss up of either a shotgun or a blunderbuss. Atm look at him he's lacking character so i was thing maybe a monocle or a tabacco pipe. It may add more to him.

    ReneO. Cheers ReneO. Will do.

tombaker86, Well well. Look who it is! I hope you're not being over worked mate! Been a while since we last spoke. I'll get some cred and give you a bell soon.

Just a small wip update. Been quite distracted this week. So this has been eating away at me.

  15. I like the monocle idea, very fitting. Had to look up the blunderbuss, as I had no idea what it was, but realized that was the gun I was thinking of when I said shotgun. Jacket looks sweet so far.

Can't wait to see this guy sculpted and textured. He's just got so much character already!
It'll make a great portfolio piece.

    Checking on it soon!

OMG I just made a model just like this a few weeks back. take a look at some reference of the hunter from jumanji for a good bit of styalisation. definately look for pith helmet designs and safari suits. the pockets on the safari suit can be quite interesting.

good luck with this one. The characature is quite fun to do.

  20. Are you going to bring this into Zbrush or just do a diffuse?
