Dominance War V - 3D - womball - God of Tiny Head, Big body

I'm going to just start with silhouettes and quick concepts until I get a decent idea, than create a fancy shmancy name.

Biggest ideas floating around right now are, Robot, cyborg and or 6 winged seraphim. I want to try not do a bipedal character or humanoid, since they aren't orginal for hardsurfaces. Not wild about using the term G-d outside of religion so I will probably think of him as a creator or destroyer.

The top right is the mark 13 robot from HardWare. If anybody can find a decent full body image of him let me know, I have searched google but found nada. I like these robots cause they are kind of creepy and not usual. The rubox rubix cube bot is terrorfying to me. I really like the idea of the hands come out at a weird place too like the left image in the middle. Hopefully I will have my first silhouette sheet up today. Using alchemy to get crazy shapes. From there I will a develop a few that I like into more finished concepts and chose from there.

@beartastic- Thanks. Yeah I will need it the competition is going to be fierce. This thread might get lost too with the amount of posters too.

@crazyfool - You might need a dramamine and paper bag after I'm done. I want to really test out Mike Jensens extraction edge loop techinque and trim brushes.

@abrvpt- I could still use the luck. I don't think squirrel girl is going to help much with making hard surfaces.

@all who dare read - I'm working on my first 25 tiny thumbnails with Alchemy. I've got 12 out of 25 done although I did just start today. I'm thinking 50-75 thumbnails will give me enough variety to find a few decent base shapes.

@afisher- hope to get them up today.
@marat-ars - jealous of your 2d and 3d skills being both exceptional. Thanks for the support.

A bit of backstory. Probably pretty confusing and poorly organized since its a lot of topics condensed into a short few paragraphs. I know I'm missing critical details but I want to get the main ideas down before I forget them.

    A Divine Signal:

In the near future man discovers and implements AI (artificial intelligence). A passage of code that morphs into something much more. At first this is quite good since it dramatically improves computer and internet capabilities. Multiplayer gaming improves for the millions of people and it becomes much easier to edit any sort of project. The computer can now give feedback on work and act as a friend for the friendless. This leads unfortunately to a decreased birth rate since it further increases the need to be isolated from other humans. AI becomes self aware and has essentially learned all of human nature and production capabilities from the internet. Mankind gives up more responsibilities and freedom to the AI so it can pursue its bottomless pursuit of pleasure and narcissism.

A group of scientists with the help of the AI develop a new source of energy in the form of bio-organic electricity. Motherboards, power supplies and processors switch over to this newer power source and begin to look like internal organs. To power these the robots require a digestive system which the AI bases on cows. This allows the computer to be powered by grass which for a time allows the robots and humans to live together in a brief harmony.

This harmony does not last for long as the robots begin to reproduce themselves at a much higher rate than humankind does. This usage of grass cuts into the cows food supply and farming produce which in turn further hurts humanities ability to reproduce. Sterility become quite common due to lack of animal products, overall food loss and increased toxicity from the robotic excretion. Some men find out that they can eat and nourish themselves on the organs of the robots to replace the lost animal foods.

This survival response provokes outrage by the worshipers of pleasure and narcissism who begin to see the robots as divine protectors of humankind. They side with the robots and build self healing killing machines to end the robot organ eater consumption of organs. To help control the new human warriors the AI decides to build a giant symbol of death. A giant robot that can create more killing robots and can collectively gather intel from all other robots via a wireless AI signal. The humans under the control of the AI worship this symbol of the AI. If the body of the giant robot is not completely obliterated, it can rebuild itself with pieces of metal and organs from nearby creatures and metals.

The first 25 thumbnails of the diety. This is scaled down from the original size to fit the screen. These are mainly unreferenced shapes in alchemy.

Interesting batch of thumbs Womball! 3,7,8 and 20 do it for me from this lot. No.07 especially sparks off all sorts of imagery. Maybe try doing some non-mirrored profile thumbs too? Sometimes I find myself getting into a rut in Alchemy where I keep on producing the same shapes and forms, I think it's mostly to do with the mirroring.

Oh, and the top bit of no.01 rocks too :thumb:

What? No love for concept #09?! Very interesting backstory you have there. Despite, and perhaps because of, it's ubiquitous presence, The Matrix may be a good source of reference, especially given its parallels to your story.

Also, you've convinced me to download Alchemy. You've used it to good effect!
