All right at last it's time to post!! This is my original design which made it simple since the contest states I have to use the team colors and logo on the character. But then I beagan exploring other options. Picasso told us to doubt our first choices so we can explore other possibilities..that would explain his relationship philosophy with the women in his life. But I just wanted to explore what would happen if I did certain things, but I do like the simplicity of my first design the best so far.. the outfits colors just didn't satisfy me because it felt limiting rather than simplifying things for me. But I still do like my first choice in the time tiara though I want to put it back in because it doesn't look right as a Mandala to me.

Now I incorporate gear brushes and the logo and colors for the weapon. The mandala is starting to be developed..but I think I like the time tiara halo with a faded mandala time face in the background. I 'm just getting the character started..don"t ask me about composition thumbs yet..it goes character..turnaround..final piece or final piece and then turnaaround with me. In the next studies the gear is a place holder.

Color comps to explore other possibilities..including giving her Rama blue skin which I like or gray skin like my ref. mannequin..it reminds me of the greek Gods 's colors in the Disney Hercules movie..but I got the idea from listening Sita sings the blues the soundtrack from this retelling of the Ramayana..you can watch it on you tube.

This is my female mannequin changed to Samaya the Time Goddess fully poseble for reference these dolls are worth the price..I have a male too. The only problem is I need to realign them because they get crooked spines or legs. But I have a background in theater and costumes so I make wigs, clothes, props, and weapons. Although I admit it's hard for me to sew construct things using household items and reliable tapes. Esp. Gaffer's tape is a finer form of duct tape .

This is my real life reference. She was once a foster sister of mine, but I can't say her name or anything other than that because of the constraints of the system. I found this pic in my room while cleaning it. I was going to take and scan her other pic , but I would have to take a frame apart to get to it. (in case of emergency break glass..:P) Her skin and eyes caught me for Samaya.

Well that's all for now..But please keep giving me your advice and feedback especially in her coloring what do you guys like, what should be explored more , what would be a better solution etc.. Any feedback is always appreciated.

Good news! I like the design of her, and you have made excellent use of the GA logo in her weapond. For clothing i like B, C and E (upper right E). But B and C is my favorites, not the boldest choices from my part but i really like the colours on those two. That blue skin is a good idea for your theme of the character though, maybe you could try to make a version with normal skin like B or C and make some parts, hands for example have blue skin. Just a thought. It is looking really good so far and i think you have captured the referenced girl in your concept. Very nice! Looking forward to more frequent updates!

    These are great!
I really like "I". The dress has the celestial feel and I like the grayish skin. She seems very otherworldly and godly in those colors to me.
While I understand that gears are part of clocks and all; on first glance, the big gear made me think she is goddess of gears, robots, or that she was a gear robot. I think elegant clock hands might look better behind her. I liked how you used to have many clock hands (kinda showing how she is out of the timeflow). A glowing, slightly see-threw elegant clockface with roman numerals (so that most people will understand it's a clock and not say a scale of weight) I do like some small gear elements here and there though!

Keep up the rocking work and glad your phone is doing better!

Rickard: you picked the ones I liked as well. Yeah I think few more color and detail studies still not saying Eureka..yet. I also thought about an animal mount too.

Raz:The gear was just a place holder in the studies because I didn't want to spend extra time coloring a clockface that wasn't designed quite yet. I hope to do some when and if I decide on clock in background or time halo tiara. Right now she has enough accessories on her head and I have to choose between the gears, the clock handschopsticks or the time halo tiara or all three ? More studies to come.

The feedback is really helping so far, keep it up.

OhThanks I like paintovers they help mealot more than just text alone. Oh that 's neat. Still exploring though. I did three more color studies..but too tired to try any more tonight did a lot of physical work today.

I'm still trying out ideas. Let me know what you think. And I'll hope to try Raz and Rick's suggestions. I'm finally posting from my mobile. It would be easier if droid phones had a copy and paste command. Cause if ther is I can't find it !

Well what happened with GA last night? Both Raz and I were about to post after working all evening on studies and WTFH (What the FredH?) Happened to GA. All my theories point to server or power outage and of course Aliens always are a fave guesses of mine. Well without further ado let's show some sketches!

This is the second set of set of color studies and by the end I think I found my winner; it was between P&Q for the longest time. I explored more options including platform. The practical side of me was warring with the fashion designer in me..." dude she manipulates Time so she doesn't think she need much armor, her vanity and her power make her arrogant. " But. This the winner so far:

And th last is a revised study of her weapon: " The Hands of Time". Does any anbody know the technical name for a Double bladed spear staff?

The diagram hopefully explains somewhat of the way the weapon works in my head. Her biggest weakness would probablly be fighting another more experienced Time God. Don't want to say Time "ord because that is from Dr. Who. Well that 's all until my next post...gotta to boot up my ancient computer so Ican be ready to use Photoshopin maybe a half hour. JK.

OMZ! I just realized I think the blue and gold pattern from my chinese placemats entered my subconcious. I'll have to wrap it around my mannequin to see how the light effects IT. Thanks Raz for the reference pics of clocks.

I'm liking how it's looking so far Grim. I'm a fan of P. The darker colors work nicely I think.

    Keep up the good work.

Thanks Bloodeye! :-) I'm still debating. I really like both. But the design looks too busy so I might simplify, because now when I look at the dress it's hogging all the attention. Her face is the last thing I'm looking at.

What about threst of you guys? Crits and Comments are appreciated.

The costume is coming along. I like the style and proportions more from #21, since its slighlty more elongated and stylized.

She is looking awesome! I love her shoes! I want a pair!
Maybe dangle the belt hourglass a bit, it kinda interrupts cute small waste a bit where it is.

I like the contrast of P myself. However, one of the other hair colors may be cool. Like the lighter or darker blue but with less saturation. She's coming along nicely. I also like the ribbon coming of of the staff. Looking good so far :thumb:
