    Dominance War V - 3D - Integrated - Goddess of the Forest

    Goddess of the Forest.

Her creatures, the plantlife of countless worlds, have acted as protectors of life since the beginning. Other animals cannot live without plants, and so the plants have taken care of them, wherever the life is.

Now she, the Goddess and soul of every plant, has risen up in anger, having watched countless planets consumed by fire and dust, she feels the loss of every blade of grass, of every flower petal, of every ancient tree.

She comes to us in a human form to show us what will become of us when the forest takes over and rids the universe of humanoids.

She is a vengeful bitch, her tongue thick with poison and spite. Her power is the accumulation of nature itself.

    Final render:

I really like the idea of the owl. Maybe for her waist have a big woodland belt or fancy loin cloth of some kind

Maybe doing something similar where the roots from her back are intertwined into her skin and actually.... maybe the roots are her fingers or something like that. Just an idea Keep it up

I was thinking the belt will be the only part of her that isn't 'natural' - it will be an intricately carved wooden..... well pair of hot pants I guess

Progress is slow compared to most people I bet I am modelling most things in low poly before taking stuff in to be sculpted.

I will check yours out, I think I saw it before and yes I'm glad our ideas are not too similar!

TY! I am going to have some creepers growing around her body in the high poly sculpt but yes I guess some tattoo type things would be another really good addition, thank you I will throw the GA logo somewhere on her stomach area I believe. I tend to have a vague idea of texturing but still make a lot of it up on the fly once I get to that stage.

Love your idea. I think that the green veins would look cool popping out so they sort of look like vines... maybe even weaving some sort of root/vine into parts of her face and/or hair would be cool.

Here's a quick google image search for some female anatomy reference that might help:

    Thanks Rion!

I want to leave the head and face relatively untouched otherwise I think it'll get a bit overblown. What part of her is human I want to be completely human (more or less) as she is the goddess of nature after all.. so I want the face to look very real and very feminine No green hair or anything, that'll look cartoony, I will probably go with golden brown hair.

    Sculpted for a while..

Innovative ideas so far! I think you might need to do a bit of work on the mouth. I believe that currently her top lip is throwing off her smirk.

    Keep coming strong! Looking good!

Thank you I am not great at modelling lips, it's probably my worst area to sculpt.

Thanks I will keep at it heh

This is where I'm at with the high poly. I am going to model butterflies, some flowers, some twigs in low poly only too. and the hair.

One thing I'm now thinking is what to do in her hands? Some bracelets and tattoos probably, but also, should she be holding something? A weapon feels out of place as she's not supposed to embody violence, so maybe something else?

    Any ideas?

  19. nice progress. I think you could work the transition of the leg to the tree part a little more, the changing of surfaces is a little abrupt. Also the shape of the rib cage is looking a bit unnatural at the moment, particularly in the area where it joins the sternum. I look forward to your next update. Keep going :thumb:

I agree with afisher on the transition of flesh to wood in the legs. Maybe have a few more tendrils wrapping up the leg, and going over or around the knee like vines. Cool design so far though!
