Dominance War V - 2D - Asagiriwkw - Goddess of dimension

my tittle is goddess of dimension, which about a goddess who able to control the dimension.

my character design is inspired by toujin kit and cannabis work from tanaka tatsuyuki.
the structure is based on abstract organic and steampunk mechanism.

but my wishes is to apply more mysterious feeling using miyazaki style, well, i probably will apply it to background, hopes it blend well...

painting style would be anime style but using digital painting.

I wasted too much time for the idea and concept, which now cause me running out of time for execution T.T

Nice start! I really like the expression on her face, feels confident, like she knows that she is above everyone else. And the references are great, i love the Cannabis Works book, have it by my bedside table And that with a Miyazaki background sounds great.
Which Miyazaki movie will you be inspired by, the more nature oriented ones like Mononoke or Totoro, or the more industrial Laputa?
Would love to see your character in a pose with more action. Looks really nice so far, keep up the good work! Hope you can find the time to finish this! :thumb:

my background is undecided yet, but i think it will be more appropriate to go for laputa style : )
although my favorite is spirited away and mononoke.

this will be my nearly final design
i did add in wings. but i am quite worry as the design is quite off. i guess i still lack of reference.


then i did some poses for my final piece image using this design.

hopefully i can done before the deadline is over....

Nice design! It's good to see that you're experimenting with poses, as the previous pose was very inactive. The new top left one feels like she's actually using her powers or doing something and has a lot more promise to it. Good luck! :thumb:

i do like the top left one, but i decided to go for bottom one as it looks more "godlike".

this is how my final piece would look like, and some description in it.
its still very rough and long way more to complete it...

i still pretty worried about the wing as it stand almost 1/4 of my artwork... if i cant out-stand it i might change the wing into half transparency

such cute little Goddess ^_^ love the trait ! and I do love her design but she seems to me more faery and magical than Goddess to be honest :flag: perhaps we need more size on her to really see her immortal lineage? also opening some dimensional portal could be a good combo!

i do agree with you, she do looks quite "feary"ish

i touch up the character while the background and wings are still undone


i studied the wings.
this girl is metamorphosis from pupa, so i think it would be more appropriate if i pick the fifth one. what do you guys think?

I love the design of your wings, and it is a powerful composition you chose. Right now it feels like the wings are more the center of attention than the goddess herself - there is so much contrast and detail in them and they are so saturated that they distract from her and pull the attention away. It would be great to find a way to pull the eye right back in to her herself. Another issue to think about is how to make her pop from the background more: You have a lot of noise in the background making her more difficult to read against, and some part of her armor and outfit blend right into it. Removing some of the background detail - making it darker or lighter - could help your goddess read a lot more clearly. But no matter what you choose, great work on the design, and good luck! :thumb:
