    Chasing the best (non-existing) tutorial

    Hey,

I found myself that for 2 weeks or so, I'm trying to find the best training/tutorial/school that would help me to learn Maya.

I'm in a trap of choices! I have wasted my time. Instead of browsing youtube, digital tutors, gnomon, eat 3d, 3d total.... looking for peoples' opinions on this training, or that school... I could simply sit down, open materials from Maya, or even better, start doing concrete project in Maya.
I would be 2 weeks experienced user in Maya. Instead I'm 2 weeks experienced "3d tutorials market expert". I still don't know the tool, but I can tell you the prices of different tuts available over the net /facepalm.

The reason I'm telling you about that is this video:

It made me realize that this is common problem of nowadays. It may be that some of you might be in similar situation as I was till today.

I hope that this is going to be as illuminating as it was for me, and helps someone to get out of the choice trap.

    regards

kinda sorta. Im not against spending money to learn tutorials in the slightest. I will say that if you are just learning Maya save your money and go to cgtuts.com be one of your best bets really then I would say look on 3d total and then start buying. I mean in life we have to balance our time wisely (which I suck at doing) especially if you have a fulltime job (non 3d or even creative) and need to pay rent and car note on time. So time off from 8 hour hell hole must be well spent. If you wanna get better you have to make alot of sacrifices which I'm starting to do but self discipline is tough. You will get frustrated alot but don't let it discourage you just part of learning.

Digital Tutors is great for newcomers they have that intro to maya. I did the intro to max I canceled my membership because I stopped using it so frequently though.
