By Crom your women shall lament before my cyber-sandaled feet!

gonna go for a sorta post-apoc, sci-fi deal, maybe mix some of Frazetta's Conan stuff with his Buck Rogers, still workin it out.

Great start, but be carefull, Conan isnt a comic originated character, you may want to reconsider you choice?

sarakawa: Damn yourself dude, your concept is swEEEEt I have a pretty solid idea of what I wan to do with him as far as the body/face goes so I figured I'd just dive right in. Also I can't be bothered to dig out my scanner atm

Steamtrooper: Thanks for stopping by, you're right he didn't originate in comics, but unlike say Master Chief or the Street Fighter gang, he has been appearing in them fairly regular since 1970 and as actually been a comic character longer than Wolverine. 40+ years is a pretty hefty comic lineage, and not to be an ass (really) but the rules specify "Characters originating from video games or movies are not allowed for this challenge (Tomb Raider, Star Craft, etc)." Conan started in books and the first film was based of the comic.

just a small update, but here it is:

Just reminding you of the letter of the rules KEDavidson, I appreciate what your saying about other sources like Games and Films and fully agree with you on that, but the fact remains that if the judges choose to they can disqualify you, and I wouldnt want you to put in hundreds of hours work only to fall on a technicality. Best of luck anyhoo, Im a huge Conan fan and have the Big hardback version they recently released (relatively), that includes the short stories and unfinished work.

    Great face

  14. Some great ref there and your sculpt is looking good, but where the bicep meets the shoulder needs a minor adjustment, it doesn't look like it's flowing correctly in the 3qtr and side views. The rest is looking good :thumb:

Conan is such an awesome character it's nice to see someone doing him, and in such a bad ass way. Great references and I think you nailed the barbarian look on Conans face.

Wouldn't worry about the rules though. Even though he didn't originate in comics I think all those years of comic book history count for something. Besides he appears on the challenge title montage, so...

Looks awesome so far dude. The lats look strange from that back 3/4 view though. They stick out strangely in the middle.

Here are a couple of references from similar angles with the arms in a similar position.
