    Baj: I kinda left the legs a little thinner on purpose reasoning that while he is stupid strong, he's not a body builder and would use his upper body more often in combat (swinging giant swords, crushing skulls with his hands ets) and therefore have more of a baseball players physique.

    Jaco: will definatley keep that in mind in the future and tweak the base to allow proper flow.

    devoid: y'know, everytime I look at the thumb in my wip folder of the early head I think that too, but when i try to fix it I just can't seem to get it right. I found with a lot of Frazetta and Nord's stuff that he had a fairly straight nose though so I'm a little torn.

    Mostly unrelated but I was happy to find out so... I was having a conversation with a friend of a friend of Frazetta (RIP), the other day about his take on Conan, and apparently it was pure

    Obvious when you think about it but obviously I hadnt %?

    Anyhoo I know your not going for that take on Conan but thought you might be interested chap

    small update as I woke up at 4am yesterday with a fever and spent most of the day in bed with netflix thereby loosing a rare full day to work on him, and today isn't looking much better,

    Rambo the conqueror Looking good chap, make sure he has a nice blade though k - a modernised machette with a nice saw blade would be cool to see.

    Sorry to hear about the illness, Im on my 3rd cold in 2 months atm and have decided that fruit probably should have a part to play in my diet from now on

    It looks good. The only thing that looks a bit weak is the cape thing, the flow on the wrinkles isn't quite there. The z or compression fold you got going doesn't make sense unless you have him compress that side of his body.

    just curious how is the workflow process for this?

    just trying to figure it out a bit

    1. base body scupt naked in zbrush
    2. then add the clothes high poly
    3. retopo everything
    4. then texture

    Hi Ronin,
    wow so this guy has changed quite a bit from that post, but that's almost the order.

    1. low poly base for body, clothes, etc in maya/max/whatever
    2. Highpoly sculpt in ZBrush of all parts
    3. Polypaint base texture pass in ZBrush
    4. Retopo, UV and bake. I use ZBrush to retopo, Maya to UV and Xnormal to bake but whatever you're comfortable with is fine
    5. Cleanup and final texture pass in Phototshop.

    There's an additional step 0 that is when gathering reference, it's pretty essentially to have a proper concept going in and not just grabbing idea's to see what works. I've literally wasted months because I thought I could just solidify the concept as I modeled (this is totally fine if all you're doing is a concept sculpt though).

    current version, highpoly is done, a wonderful amount of contract work has kept me from the lows:
