I was thinking about early morning. With like some pale fog rising across the water. A peaceful morning with the local fishermen rowing out to sea...then AHHHH HOLY JESUS A HUGE NAUTILUS!!!!
I think this looks better with a color bg, what do you guys think?
Ahh, yes, a morning peaceful shot would look great. That would explain why the fisherman is so surprised (refering to the surprised lines of course ).
This color modeling sheet looks really cool, however, you are only allowed to use one color tone for everything. So if the backround is blue, the nautolus must be blue too. Basically, use a hue/saturation layer and turn everything into one color.
...That's what I though...(about the model sheet) but someone mentioned adding color too it. I think I may just keep it gray scale.
Better. It's better to play safe than sorry.:lucky:

this is getting better and better. However, I kind of liked the side beaches that made the water like an arrow pointing towards the nautilus? It also helped unite the top half with the bottom half of the image.
In this one here, the land was made rounder:
I guess I am just being picky:inocent:
Ah! i got cha! I like that better too...I must have missed that going form pencil to paint.
Here is a small update: messed with the water some more and added some atmosphere.
Looking good so far
I don't mean to spam this thread with all these updates...
I don't where else to go from here. I have been working in it most of the day and maybe i just need some fresh eyes? Any advice on where to go next would be awesome!
Last pass i think...I got some really good help from a illustrator friend of mine.
Thanks for everyone's help with this! I couldn't have taken it this far without you guys.
