About the poster, 3d artists must submit a character with a transparent background, and naturally, funky lighting should be avoided in order to keep things at least semi unified Working on the poster upload page now....

Concept artists can submit their work for a concept art team poster.. but I suspect their artwork will need to be modified a bit by the poster creator in order to get everything to work. Basically, we'll see what we get, and then make something cool with it.

HA!! I was JUST sending you a PM Fred!
I was going to ask for an extension because it looks like everyone here could use an additional weekend. Might as well make it the 14th and give the people the full weekend to fully pimp it out.
    Thanks man!!

I'm going against the grain here, but I dont like the idea of an extension. I don't get extensions at work and doing so discredits the hard work and long hours a lot of people have done that have been trying to meet the set deadline. If you are tasked with a date, it's important to be able to deliver content on that date.

thats true, but i am sure you can use those extra days to polish your work.
its particularly good news for me since i been super busy with work lately and have not contributed more than couple days work towards dw3.
these extra days gives me a chance to actually finish this which i really want to. work might still get in the way so who knows.
btw, i didnt consider it to be a task that i would get paid for, if that was the case i would have finished it long time ago.

I agree with this, but it's probably too late now since it's been announced. How much outrage would there be if they took away those 5 days lol

Honestly, I used to get annoyed with extensions but I've found extensions tend to allow me that extra bit of time to really polish my work and allow the slacker or people with lives to at least get their hardwork done.

And in my job being a Lead if an artist requested more time to get a piece looking AAA I'd let them do it. Especially if it's nothing more than a week.

So like if someone came up and said they needed the entire weekend to get it awesome and it'd be on my desk first thing on Monday I'd let them do it.
What do you say Fred? First thing Monday morning on April 14th??

Fred, I love you man! Haha, was hoping that you would give us an extention (now I just need my son to arrive so I can get some time off to change diapers, and finish my piece:P) I agree that maybe moving it to the 14th would be good as that gives us the weekend to add that extra detail to our pieces weve spent so much time on. Either way, thanks for the extra time, and again thanks for getting the war together!

What's that sound? Is that the sound of Angels???
This is divine music to my hellish ears...

Seriously I have had a lot of "work" work to do and Easter screwed me out of 5 days right there.. so this is definitely a blessing.

I think the extra days are great... I also think adding the weekend would be even better... Here here!!

We go through this just about every dominance war and or comp, for those who have made the time and effort to meet the deadlines great, and its a nice repreive for those who just need that extra day. as for discrediting hard work and long hours eh! i dont get, yes if you work and get paid for work produced by a spicific date and or are working on a project to meet a spicific deadline at a 9-5 job then it is importent to get the work done to time and date. unfortunitly most people here including me only have a few hours a day to work on anything. aper:

ah sweet! I was hoping this might happen but I wasn't optimistic since so many other communities are involved.

I got way busy with freelance work and let my concept languish (the almighty dollar beats out contests, unfortunately), I was going to try to marathon through this weekend (and still might!) but I'm glad I'm not under the gun so much.
