Impressive job, however I feel the vertical sash at the front could benefit from having an alpha map applied so that the edges arent straight.

    There's a flatshaded version. it's 3000 polieso n the nose.

Nights: It's a viewport screengrab from max--i did not have access to a shader that has alpha in it that I liked. But yeah, i actually do have an alpha mask for that and the little rings that are on poly planes all over.= )

Hey stoofoo welcome to Game Artisans and thanks for sharing this killer piece with us! I agree with NiGHTS2o06 in saying that a simple alpha would work wonders and really bring it over the top.:thumb:Anyways I'm looking forward to any updates and to whatever you come up with next.

Awesome stuff. The tiger guy looks real nice. I especially love the fur on him. Good stuff.

About the alphas, why not just use Max's standard shader and plug the alphas in there?

  9. The normal map looks awesome on such a low polyish mesh. Good job on this one.

By the way, how did you create the small detail fur for the normal map? Did you sculpt the small fur detail or paint it as a height map and add it on the normal map? (I'm guessing the latter, just checking since I need to create some fur for my character too)

  13. Like what they said, alpha mapped fur will really make this great piece even better. Maybe add an alpha mapped mane too.

Was just going to mention the alpha map fur aswell.

I also agree with the others. It would really make his fur "pop" :thumb:

Interesting Pyre! Count me in on the fur comment as well. The Charr have enough so that it sticks out between/around armor.

Why did you resurrect a two year old thread to say "awesome dude..."?

Odd? Yes. Uncalled for behavior? Not really. It's a valid thread. It's a valid, if wholly generic & unimaginative, comment. There's nothing against "the rules" about chiming in on old threads. Maybe he just found it and wanted to praise the artist. Granted, he's really late to the party, but it's not a big deal.

Didn't say it was against the rules, or anything like that, so I don't know where you're coming from with that... didn't say it was rude either, so again, don't know where you got that idea.

Seriously your comment makes no sense at all.
