Hey Vahl, what the heck is a curvature map? Is that for the character's silhouette?

Onelung : Thanks, as for the knees, definitely, I was planning to tone that down too.

Ancient-Pig : Basically this is a shader that samples surface curvature, and lets you isolate concave, convex and flat surfaces on 3 separate maps, I render them because they are part of my workflow and a lot of my materials are textured using them (not just as mask overlays), if you know how to play with them they become really useful and speed up the process a lot (note that they are not cavity maps, even though cavity maps can be achieved using a tweaked concavity map). I'll post them here when they will be rendered if you're interested.

    funkdelic : thanks

Can't wait to see these mysterious "curvature maps"!!
Boots look better although the flap being right at the bend of the foot could get tricky with rigging. Just something to think about. You could most likely detach it in the rig and just move it around when you pose her.

Thanks guys, nothing to be thrilled about curvature maps though

Modeling_man : The flap is detached on the lowpoly actually

wip textures, Realtime in marmoset, as usual

still got a lot to do around the eyes (eyelashes, little wet line, shadows, better integration of the eyeball, and make the tearducts more apparent)

I'll take some time to upload some curv examples later on

  18. Been great watching this Vahl, really nice piece. Only thing that pops out at me in the latest update is how the strap on the "hair" (the strap above the eye) is forming a small inward V shape. I would have expected a strap to be flat or to pop out slightly, not go in.

    Great stuff
