looks beautiful vahl, not sure if its the angle but the upper lip looks a little flat, like it might be missing the middle bit? awesome stuff

top notch work for sure ! I just can't wait for the texturing on this one![]()
Really nice! Can't wait for the textures.![]()
real coo work buddy.
thanks a lot guys, I reworked the boots, made the folds bigger and softer.
Also a new face shot.
baking some normals and curvature maps atm![]()
muuuuuuuuuch better on the boots. Tension from the knee still feels a bit abrupt at the start imo. good stuff!:thumb:
Hey Vahl, what the heck is a curvature map? Is that for the character's silhouette?
thats looking really great so far mate!
Onelung : Thanks, as for the knees, definitely, I was planning to tone that down too.
Ancient-Pig : Basically this is a shader that samples surface curvature, and lets you isolate concave, convex and flat surfaces on 3 separate maps, I render them because they are part of my workflow and a lot of my materials are textured using them (not just as mask overlays), if you know how to play with them they become really useful and speed up the process a lot (note that they are not cavity maps, even though cavity maps can be achieved using a tweaked concavity map). I'll post them here when they will be rendered if you're interested.
funkdelic : thanks![]()
I'd also be interested to see these famous "curvature maps"
Great model !
Never heard about curvature maps but still interested
Can't wait to see these mysterious "curvature maps"!!
Boots look better although the flap being right at the bend of the foot could get tricky with rigging. Just something to think about. You could most likely detach it in the rig and just move it around when you pose her.
B
Thanksguys, nothing to be thrilled about curvature maps though
Modeling_man : The flap is detached on the lowpoly actually![]()
wip textures, Realtime in marmoset, as usual
still got a lot to do around the eyes (eyelashes, little wet line, shadows, better integration of the eyeball, and make the tearducts more apparent)
I'll take some time to upload some curv examples later on
Really cool ! I've no crit so far !
Vahl, this looks great.
It makes me want to make a Sith or something, you got me in the mood so much!
amazing progress mate
just checked your portfolio, you´re really talented, congratulationz![]()
Been great watching this Vahl, really nice piece. Only thing that pops out at me in the latest update is how the strap on the "hair" (the strap above the eye) is forming a small inward V shape. I would have expected a strap to be flat or to pop out slightly, not go in.
Great stuff![]()
great start of the textures.
And the hight-poly sculpt is nice too.
That's look really great !!
Awesome work.
