    Saving masks in ZB4?

Maybe I just forgot a step or something since I haven't done this in a long time, but how do you save masks in ZB4-R2? I used to be able to do it by simply clicking "create alpha" from the masking menu, but now when I do that, it creates an alpha that is nothing like what I painted. I'm using AUV tiles, but have tried it using other UV methods to no avail. Used to work like a charm in other versions of ZB, but with all the new masking options in ZB4, something changed or I forgot some important step. Some help please, thanks

Works fine for me for both AUV and a proper UV unwrap. Tested it with each. Just to be sure, I restarted ZB, loaded back in the test OBJs, assigned AUV back to the one not unwrapped, loaded the alpha, & reassigned it with the mask by alpha button. Worked just great. No problem with the already unwrapped model either.

I suggest you upgrade to 4R3, especially if you're using 4R2b. There are a couple of annoying bugs in the 4R2 updates.

BTW: The steps I took were:

    1. Load my not unwrapped OBJ.
    2. Subdivided it a bunch of times so I could paint a detailed mask.
    3. Dropped my subdivision level back down to lvl.1.
    4. Assigned an AUV set
    5. Cranked my subdivision level back up
    6. Painted my mask
    7. Clicked to create alpha
    8. Saved out my alpha as a PSD

    For my test, I:

    1. Quit ZB
    2. Reloaded ZB
    3. Loaded back in my not unwrapped OBJ again
    4. Subdivided it a bunch of times again
    5. Dropped my subdivision level back down to lvl.1 again
    6. Assigned an AUV set again
    7. Cranked my subdivision level back up
    8. Loaded the PSD into my alpha
    9. Clicked the Mask By Alpha button in the masking rollout
    10. Took the mask for a test by sculpting around it

Works fine with that test. Same with the already unwrapped one too. Has to either be your model or ZB version.

Strange, those are the same steps I did as well to no avail. Perhaps it is ZB4R2. I might upload a video of me doing it if I can't find a solution.
