    My SDK

Tip of the hat to those who make excellent use of Nvidia, MudBox, crazybump and/or ZBrush . . .:thumb:

Sadly enough, all I have is regular Photoshop and a Multi/SubObject material in 3DSMax...

    Nonetheless!
    THE GAME IS ON!

  5. Holy crap, awesome work guys!

I´d join but I haven´t textured anything in ages.

Sorry for the uninspired armor, missing weapon and uncapped feet.
I wasted too much time and ThatDon wanted to get this started after I kept him waiting for five weeks.

Cheers bin, I'll try it out. If it doesn't work, does anyone have any objection to me unwrapping it myself? I'd rather do that anyway.

  14. New UV-maps

    Hey folks,

I thought this looked like a fun mini-challenge, so I'd take a shot at it.
First I did a quick pass over the model to completely re-UV-map it, since I didn't really like the original layout.
For anyone else who wants to use my new UV layout, click the image here to download an OBJ with the updated UVs.

Click here, or on the image, to get the updated file!

    What I did:
    • Rotated nearly all parts to be "right way up"
    • Scaled and relaxed the UVs for uniform pixel density
    • Stitched a lot together to remove unnecessary seams
    • Straightened some edges for easier painting

Hope it's ok to re-distribute this, I think it should be allowed since the rules say that UV-editing is fine. I turned a couple of edges to improve the shape here and there, but the verts are all in exactly the same place, nothing has moved.

I should start on my texture tomorrow.

    Cheers,
    -MoP
