Is Kickstarter a good idea?
The first philippine brony convention during march 31 is a big success were already planning for the next one on March 30 2013
Been busy...
Freelance thing i am doing very well working online full time freelance for EXM games XD as a 2d artist and 3d artist (were using blender that is why i asked about blender before) which reminds me were open for commissions in case any of you would be interested
Full time still hunting but have a scheduled interview for Assist Asia this coming tuesday, a game studio that outsources to major ones in japan as to who their clients are i dont know i tried checking the main website...everything is in japanese...tried checking if they have a english website and they dont have one
aslo apparently almost made it to Top Draw few months ago...was very close...and there was another reason why i cant work for Top Draw...they have a new studio policy which i didnt know about...their employees are not to be invovled with the Brony fandom (that includes facebook and etc) since they are afraid the employees might accidentally spread leaks
so yeah more or less in Top Draw's words, i didnt make it because i am not a good enough artist, i was very close in fact just that the new studio policy got in the way...
i am already too invovled with the fandom group (i am part of the core members that is helping organizing/planning the next Philippines Brony Convention specifically they assigned me to handle the art part/events/activities for the convention, also helping them put together an Art Book which will be composed of Fanfics, Fan artworks from the fandom, and well be having a Philippines Brony Forums in a short while and they picked me to be one of the moderators...so yeah i am too invovled with the fandom already) by the time the new studio policy. But least its not because i suck as an artist...actually as they put it they find me to be one of the more talented applicants and did make it...just that well studio policies...what can we do :P
Anyways i wanted to ask because one of the PH bronies suggested we can use that for funding the PHBronies art book since we will be needing funding...for printing and such...and unfortunately we will have to relly on donations...which unfortunately i dont think we will have the manpower or funds for shipping it in case a brony fan outside the philippines wants a copy of the art book...so yeah will be rellying on donations
so one of the members suggested try using kickstarter
so back to the question...has anybody tried kickstarter? and how does it work?

But the main thing to consider when using Kickstarter — your project is getting funded only if the money goal you set is reached/surpassed. Also, afaic, they still only accept Amazon Payments, so you'll need a US credit card in order to start a project there, which sucks big time. But then again, there's IndieGoGo/other crowdsourcing sites with more options.
