    Dan - Great job! I'm glad you ended up showing the sword through the gut better.

    Seven - Terrific! That looks so good in rotation! The skulls are great.

    Duncan - Thanks so much!

    Temmink - That looks super! It's Lemmingsy and gory all at once. It totally works. But I'm going to toss out a bunch of small suggestions to at least think about: For a zombie - or for a Lemming knows for walking around a lot - those are some seriously clean feet. Not a single dirt stain or blood-drop on them. Maybe messy them up a bit? The teeth seem a bit clean too. The problem with white skin is that white bones don't show up well against them - I have to really focus to notice the skull is revealed. Can you think of how to make the skin and bone pop from each other more? What about more blood-stains on the skull, or a slightly more yellowed cast to the bone? Or more blood soaked into the flesh? Speaking of which, the shirt looks great, but all of the gore splashed on looks like it's just sitting on the surface. Cloth absorbs liquid - what about some subtler, soaked-in blood-stains?
    Anyhow, I only toss this much out to see if you can take it the last 2% of the way there - what you've posted so far really works great!

    phobalien: Did you model him in that pose? Or did you already rig him before doing the textures?
    If you modeled him in that pose, do you plan on rigging him?

    @TheQiwiMan: well I have done the base mesh in max in the usual t pose. then after some basic symmetric detailing in zbrush, I posed it with the transpose master. I was already thinking to do more a lowpoly posed sculpture then an animable character. anyway all the loops and topology are there to serve the posable purpose. otherwise u don't have easy life even with the transpose...

    Yay finished. By the way I figure I should explain the pose. I picked this pose because it mimics the jump animation in the game. I should also probably figure out how to display every map in viewport. It's just a standard scanline render with 3 lights.
    I'm happy with it considering that it is my second lopoly model.

    walrus - great!
    temmink - haha, nice, think you should make the pupil milky white though. and maybe he should be a little less smiley?

  12. have finished all bakes and oclusion. right now, i'm working with a 1024, i'll scale down all the maps later.

    Just a test, no specular map, and diffuse is still in progress (just made a paint test with zbrush). the retopology was quickly made with polygon crunsher, that optimizes quite well ^^"

    Just found out about this one a couple days ago, and today was the first day I got a chance to work on it. Hoping to see how much I can get done this weekend. Banged out a rough model. Gonna play around with zombifying him, maybe in zbrush not sure.

    @Draxxuss: I don't know if I've mentioned but I love Monkey island and I'm glad you Guybrush justice!

    @BradMyers82: Thank you

    @walrus: Thanks Mike. It's a 128 map. Each skull is about 126 tris. I had fun doing them.

    @phobalien: Thank you. Your piece is coming along. I like him. I think he could really benefit from a bit more contrast though.

    @CrazyYarick: Congrats on finishing him. I've never played that game. What is it about?

    @WhiteGuardian: Looks like he's coming along. I think he could use a bit more definition in his face. Keep going

    @Orb: Very cool. I really like your style man.

    @devoid: Slick mesh!

    I think I'm calling it done.

    figured out how im gonna zombify rau and unwrapped him.
    Did a real quick test in zbrush, glad i did. I was rushing so much that i forgot about the smoothing groups. Would have been real annoyed if i did a full sculpt before i tried the zmapper. Quick question do weapons count towards the poly count and textures on the Minis?

    Yes, weapons count, effects and pedestals don't.

    I've submitted my final (same thing I showed on p. 27, with a few minor tweaks) but I was inspired by Temmink and Seven's cool turntable gifs so I did one of my own. It's not as cool as it could be - I didn't do all that much with specularity in this render - but it's fun so I'll share it anyhow:

    Cheers!

    @devoid: That sure is some zombification right there. And to answer your question... yes.

    @walrus: I really like the belt. It accentuates his stomach which is awesome. I can really get a sense of your character better this way. Awesome work

    @WhiteGuardian:
    Good luck on your UEC! :thumb:

    What did you guys use to pose your characters like this? Did you just fully rig them?

    I don't rig my characters for these mini challenges. In modo there's a deformation tool called flex that allows me to pose my model without any of the extra fuss.
