    Unwrap for complex pattern texturing

Hi all. I have tried many things and searched everywhere but nothing helped.

I am texturing viking tunic and there should be knot patterns in some areas. The place where pattern should be is a bit complex. I tried to unwrap so that the part where the pattern should be is rectangle but then I have bad stretching. I also tried to unwrap as normal and wrap the pattern in photoshop but it also looks quite stretchy. Is there any other ways of dealing with this problem or am I doomed ?

Well, I can't really say, as I can't see an image. You can probably just mark seams where you find it hard to unwrap, then cover them up in post.

Please post images in the future so It's easier to tell what it is your are doing.

I am very sorry. I have uploaded images but it looks like only I can see them. Anyway here same images but different hosting:

My character will be animated and the end result is not just still image so I am not sure how to cover them up.

ok. Here's what I would do.

I notice there's a gap in between the pattern at the corner. Make a seam at the location, and unwrap. You should end up with a better result.

Alternatively, try moving some of the vertices around at the corner so you get an in between size, less pronounced and noticeable. Or add some more edges there.
