  1. New portfolio site

Hey folks, I recently redesigned my website and was hoping to get some feedback on it.

I spent quite a bit of time deciding whether or not to go really simple like its normally been, or not, and since I get quite a bit of web work and other work (illustration, visualization etc) outside of games, I made it sort of fancy looking to garner more work from that department.

Let me know what you think!

I like the effort you put into the website, i just feel its too cluttered. The work is more important than the website, you should make the images larger, and make it grab your attention more. At the moment im just looking at your website and I fnd it hard to even want to click one of the images because it feels too messy to me.

i like the motif but but here's a couple suggestions... maybe use a typewriter font instead of the handwriting? and maybe when the site loads, you should have some kind of welcome messege in the area where the gallery loads? ...actually, nevermind

I think it looks WAY TOO cluttered. Devs don't want to see all that noise...just have your name, resume, and thumbnails of your best work. Get rid of the fancy motif because it's just noise. Also, your 2D stuff is ok but not really your strength so I would probably get rid of most of it...maybe keep life drawing but even that is not necessary. As for your actual 3D, it looks solid but you need larger images showing off better detail. Maybe even include your textures. Also, for personal work, try doing an entire environment setting. Most companies don't just hire prop artists for weapons. There are too many talented env artists who do entire scenes and props so you will never get a true shot. Good luck!

nice content, but too much visual info/disctraction...
Good old html with tables and plain images inside them - no need for more

Its the works is what count anyways. Everythign else - highly unnecessary.

  7. Cool thanks for the input everyone, I really appreciate it. I think I'll tone the noise down a bit and simplify a few things, get the thumbnails a bit bigger, and get the pop up images quite a bit bigger. I have some more work to put in there, but have been holding off until I figure out what people want. I definitely agree with changing the font to a typewriter font to make it a bit easier to read.

As for the 2d stuff, yeah it's not my strongest stuff, but I get freelance work off of it from people outside the industry, so I think I'll keep it up. I'd say about 85% of my work is web/illustration/tech animation related, and it's odd how many gigs I get from my drawing folio. If I was going for a full time gaming gig, I'd probably cut it all out.
