    StarCraft Fan Art

    Hey guys,

I was realy inspired by the art of Vitaly Bulgarov, the concept art by Dean Holden, of course StarCraft II and one of my well known fellows, an alpinist, whose appearance I took as a reference.

The goal was to create a character based on the appearance of that alpinist person, but much more exaggerated in the style of StarCraft and Gears of War, power armor and other stuff. And also it was to practice hard surface modeling, some anatomy and face expression.

Hard surface stuff modeled in xsi, head and arms sculpted in zbrush, rendered in zbrush, composed in photoshop. Any critique would be much appreciated. Thanks for watching.

Really cool but the chainmail just doesn't make any sense. Modern soldiers don't wear it anymore so I would think a futuristic soldier wouldn't either, especially with that crazy armor on top of it

Very nice! It seems to me that his legs, although heavily armored, are a little long, but other than that, your level of detail is insane! Awesome work.

Thanks guys for your kind feedback!

ScottyKay346, well let's say the idea of the chainmail was hmm.. some part of the exaggeration

mrmagee1000, yes, due to the huge boots, big hmm.. front crotch plate and uncovered arms the overall proportion seems a bit off. The legs look longer than they should be and the arms look quit short accordingly, despite the base body inside has quite correct proportions.

I like the chainmail. I just think that the proportions of the guy without the armor might look weird. Nothing you could do about that at this point though.

I watching progress! Modeling is well but main shape got tortured by small details! Следи за силуэтом Леха, боты нелепо большие по отношению к остальным формам! И наручи не столь массивны как хотелось бы. В чем моделил?
