Thanks for the critique Evanescfan, it proved to be very useful! I like the silhouette a lot more.
Draxxuss - Looks fantastic, very nice workI agree with Amethyst though about the basket. If you make her hold it in the final pose, I think it might be a little too large.
EASmart - Haha, very funny take on Pinnochio. Can't wait to see it with finished textures!
Some more work on my Rumpelstiltskin. Refined the mesh a bit, and did the unwrap. Here's some colour variations. Theres a bit of space left on my map for the hair still.

I just have a quick question and it might seem a little dump, but I've never done on of these mini comps before so....
I was wondering about this: Texture sheet, Construction sheet, Beauty sheet .
I understand what a texture sheet is and a beauty sheet, but what is an construction sheet ? what do you put on it ?
Also can we put all three on on page ? I'm sorry for my questions are a waste of time.
Construction sheet, unless I'm mistaken, is for shots of work in progress, or wire-frames, and stuff like that. I think you should have 3 images instead of one.
3 images.
Contsruction will typically show how you have created your character. Wireframe, concept, tri count, turn arounds, etc.
Texture sheet is simply showing your texture. The trick is how do you present it that is more interesting than just uploading your texture to show.
Beauty sheet is a display piece showing off your final work. Posing would be best but not mandatory. Be careful on really wacky lighting as this can take away from your character if not done well.
In the past, usually only one image is required for minis. I have asked for three as I think this is the minimum we should have to best show your initial thought process, work in progress, and final composition. By jamming them all onto one sheet, it can get crowded really fast and be detrimental to the outcome. The major competitions usually have more sheets for submission, I believe 5 of them I stead of 3.
Hopefully this helps.
Draxxuss: Thank you!!
Evanescfan - Came out great! Very true to your original drawing. Just wondering if that is with the 256 or the 512 on it?
More progress on my character. Just a little bit more to go!

OK, Here is my entry. I'm as far as I can go with this for the time that is left. if I had more I would worked on the textures more and made a more complex rigg for the pose.
However at any rate this has been a great learning experience !! thank you all for the help and I hope I was somehow helpful too....
Anyways Enjoy!!

Hugzzz for all !!

and the last one.
some really amazing work out there. was great seeing you guys in action.
thanks Draxxuss.
Congrats on finishing, Puss is looking great :thumb:
It really has come a long way, not only in quality, but also in technical specifications. Great job, especaily since that's what, your 3rd texture sheet![]()
A few parting bits of wisdom. Just because the competition is over does not mean you have to stop working on the model. Go head and make those texture and rig changes you wanted to and then put that in your portfolio.
Always remember: Good art is never finished, only abandoned.
And, sleep is just an excuse not to finish... (on that note, I'm off to bedaper: )
Draxxuss whats the deadline time .. like 12am eastern as usual? . . So i can get this in on time

@Draxxuss - Are we allowed to use a podium (Above the 1000 tri limit) in our presentation sheet?
Yes you may.
