yo fred, i think there is a small typo on the brief.. not too big of a deal but it might cause a little confusion.

    - Race:
3dtotal: Cyborgs and robots (only moderate flesh is allowed)

CCSociety, 3DTotal, CGChat: Humans or Aliens. (only moderate mechanics is allowed)

3d total is listed twice and polycount is missing, i am assuming that polycount is suppose to be the cyborgs..

  4. This is a minor issue, but I don't believe you need the quotes in this part:
    - Vehicle:
    “NO” Vehicles allowed!

You must wait until february 7th.. then the personal entry forms will become active As you wait, you can get started by making a w.i.p thread in your team of choice. Getting out a concept out as soon as possible will let you have something ready to show on the w.i.p page when it becomes activated.

on february 7th, your team's thumbnail page will look like this: (example)
    http://www.realtimecg.com/gameart/35/view/index.htm

If you have any additional questions, i would be happy to help.

First off, really nice new forum you got there, i defenetly think it will fill up in the next six weeks, and will have a great start with the Dominance War II.

Anyway, back to topic. I read the brief carefully, and also most of your comments on the other boards. But i'm still unsure about this.

    Race:
3dtotal: Cyborgs and robots (only moderate flesh is allowed)

Polycount, CCSociety, CGChat: Humans or Aliens. (only moderate mechanics is allowed)
You should flesh that out, defentatly, as i see alot of people have problems with that. For all other people than 3Dtotal, does that mean, you can not have a robotic/cybernatic leg or arm replacment, or even both, or in total up to four replacments (two leg, two arms) etc pp.

And also what does that mean for 3DTotal, is a human torso as a "base" okay, or even with a head? Or just some organic bits, like organic arms or legs, or just a head. What is okay and what not.

I'm currently pretty much finished with brainstorming, and will propably start doing concept drawings tomorow, but i want to know, if its working anyway. I want to join 3DTotal, my base will be atleast a female torso, with propably the head attached, anything else will be robotic replacments. So is that okay, or allready to much organic?

Also an other question, as i'm actually from germany, i could easily show boobs and stuff to my mom, well since im in the USA ... that would be a consider as crazy here. So what, partitally nudety is okay, or not, are nibles allready to much?

Anyway, i wish anyone alot of fun with Dominance War II !

Edit: Oh yeah, and for the 3DTotal guys, as we are going to do cyborgs and robots, i guess alot of the entries will have the weapons attached to the robots. So how can these guys use tyhe additional 1000 polys and texture sheet for gear?

Ok, I will revise the rules.

Perhaps If I simply put in a percentage, things will become more clear. I will write something more on this topic shortly.

    In brief:
For 3dtotal, characters should possess more than 80% cybernetics.

For all other teams, they should have no more than 20% of cybernetics.

About nudity, I don't think it would be a good idea to go overboard on this. If you should win, your interviews and such will be limited because of your character's subject matter. Try to keep things at a decent level that is not to embarrassing for US customs.

Polycount, CCSociety, CGChat: Humans or Aliens (only moderate mechanics is allowed). Basically, your character should have no more than 20% cybernetics. So two hands are fine or half an arm is fine or both feet are fine etc.
    this is a minor mistake

Fred from what I can see the only forums link directly linking to a communities DomWar forum is Polycount., The others just seem to link to the main forum hub... Having trouble navigating certain boards to find others WIP's.

I verified it myself just now. the join page leads to all the correct forums except for cgsociety. CGSociety has temporarily banned people from starting wip's until they have decided where the domwar forum will be located.

For the other 3 forums, feel free to start a w.i.p thread where the join page leads you

    Are Cartoon/Anime/B&W style tolerated?
just if you look up the older entries you see no stylized entry.

I removed the realism theme for this year. If people want to do a stylized entry, it's alright.

Erm, I guess what I meant was that if you go to DominanceWar.com > Forums > Click a link, it goes to the main forum hub. I guess thats right then as you want to show the communities main forum. When I did it though I thought it was going to take me to the communities forum on the contest.

The model specs give examples that don't add up. 1024x4 does not = 2048, 512x4 does not = 1024. Changing this may clear up some confusion for people that believe they can get away with double the amount of texture map resolutions allowed.

Small grammer error on one of the red text quotes:
    - One Entry per person max. If you are in a team of two, than you can't be part of another team.
"than" should be "then" afte the comma.

Put 4 1024 sheets together and you will see that the length of each side equals 2048. This question comes up a lot hehe

    I fixed the spelling. Thanks:thumb:

  20. Hey Fred. I joined the wrong team by accident - the page reloaded and polycount was selected instead of cgsociety. Any way I can get out of this without making a new account?

    Thanks.
