Job Responsibility, the role involves:
Create high-quality 3D environment assets, texturing, and lighting when required to scheduled times.
Help break-down work & derive task durations for scheduling.
Communicate progress and any difficulties in production to relevant leads and supervisors.
Work with the art team to maintain consistency through the game world and deliver on the vision of the Project.
Work with the Design team to ensure art assets respect the game design and flow.
Work closely with the Code Team to ensure technical budgets are observed and assets are fully optimized for target platforms, while minimizing any impact to the integrity of the assets.
Stay current with new industry techniques & workflows.
Participate in R&D of new techniques to implement into the production pipeline.
Test and proactively troubleshoot areas that are not working in the game and help fix them.
Document procedures and pipelines as required.
Proactively seek feedback from Supervisors and Art Director.
Knowledge & Skills:
The successful candidate should have good level, demonstrable skills, knowledge & experience in the following areas.
Adept at modelling, shading, texturing in Maya
Adept at producing Physically Based Materials
Adept with high-detail sculpting packages (Z-brush preferred) & the baking-down to in-game process
Adept at creating adaptable procedural materials in Substance Designer and applying them with Substance Painter
Adept with 2d painting / drawing packages (Photoshop preferred)
Technical understanding of digital art pipelines with solid knowledge of the technical aspects of level building, and have constructed levels from start to completion.
Awareness of current & upcoming game titles & technology.
Eagerness to learn new software tools and technologies.
Creative nature with strong problem solving skills.
Excellent artistic skills with good understanding of form, composition, color and lighting.
Ability to adapt to different art styles.
Articulate with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a team, under deadlines and time constraints.
Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and motivation.
Flexibility & the ability to learn new skills over time.
