, organizers of world-renowned game art competitions, Dominance War, Unearthly Challenge and the Comicon Challenge, today acknowledges that it will open a Gallery Lounge in Montreal, Canada, March 25th 2010. The Gallery Lounge, appropriately named Game Artisans, will function as a weekend Art Gallery that showcases art created by game artists around the world. During the week, the studio will become a first of its kind Artisans Lounge. Students, professionals or aspiring artists, the lounge is open for Everyone. Anyone can come in to relax, work on projects, receive professional advice, obtain career guidance, and chat with likeminded friends. For additional hangout hours, subscribed members can stay in beyond standard store hours. With an intent to keep artists informed of the latest techniques and methods of creating game art, Game Artisans Montreal will conduct a host of activities like 2d/3d sketch sessions, art workshops, guest speakers, tech talks and more. Fredrik Hultqvist, whose background consists of professional work as a concept and 3d game artist and who is the creator of the GCCore network of game art competitions online, will serve as studio manager.

The new test studio will hold its exciting events and programs within a 1,050 square foot facility near Place Des Arts Station. Bioware, Eidos, A2M, and EA games are all within easy walking distance. To help artists with training and/or with their school studies, the studio will house four computer terminals for personal training and help. In addition, Game Artisans Montreal will offer Sunday workshops and early weekday intensive training that runs parallel with all GameArtisans main and mini art challenges online.

GameArtisans.org has always strived to give game artists a fantastic opportunity to showcase their talents, get employed, make a great portfolio piece, receive recognition for achievements and enjoy the challenge of competing with fellow artists throughout the world. With a new physical Gallery Lounge in place, Game Artisans can give back more to the sponsors and art community that have supported GA's journey to date. In 2010, Game Artisans, Dominance War, Comicon Challenge and Unearthly Challenge will achieve new heights of excellence as better coordination, locked in start dates, enhanced online graphics, non-buggy programming, committed translators and more, are achieved.

After four years online, GameArtisans.org and its founder are excited to be carrying the site and its purpose into an additional new direction. We would like to offer our appreciation to everyone who helped support our adventures. With your support, we were able to make it this far, but... we still need your help!
